Drawing on years of extensive experience in the real estate industry, Orion’s focus today is on global infrastructure and real estate advisory, including both business development (sourcing and managing new client relationships) and as a practitioner (providing analytical, financial and transactional advisory support for service providers, sponsors, developers and investors), for his employer. 

Orion has worked on hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects worldwide ranging in size from $1M - $4B, with roles ranging from operations and openings, to consulting, development, capital markets advisory, asset management, acquisitions and restructuring.  At Orion Hospitality, he led a boutique hospitality and mixed-use capital markets advisory company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he directly managed client relationships and created the financial cash flow, capitalization and waterfall models for over 100 prospective projects across various industry sectors, including hotel, resort, residential, multifamily, mixed-use, food and beverage, entertainment, retail, office, industrial, energy and farming.  He served in a hospitality acquisitions capacity for a private investment group, identifying, underwriting, performing due-diligence work, modelling and compiling investor presentations for prospective projects, in a capital markets advisory capacity for a small investment firm in Southern California, a development management capacity at the hospitality division of a private real estate developer and as a consultant where he performing tasks such as market analysis, market research, competitive and positioning analysis, highest and best use analysis, supply and demand modelling and feasibility engagements.  He also played a critical role in the conceptualizing, development, opening and operation of 7 new resort projects, over 4,000 hotel rooms ground up to start his working career.

Orion is a recipient of all three Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, an international leadership in action program that rewarded his “progressive nature, leadership skills and outdoor proficiency” and a graduate from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration where he concentrated in Strategic Management, Operations and Entrepreneurship.  He is currently pursuing a dual MBA (class of 2020) at the Cornell University SC Johnson Graduate School of Management and Queen’s University Smith Graduate School of Business.
